MDP Presidential Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says his aim is to complete the developmental projects in the next five years as he seeks to become the first President to be re-elected since the country changed to a democratic system.
He made the remarks while on a visit to Alifu Alifu Thoddu during a campaign tour of the Atoll.
The President said that he keeps seeing major developmental changes in all the islands he has visited and that this was because his administration has carried out developmental projects like never before.
He then went out to touch some of the pledges he made to the residents of Thoddu which include the football stadium (that is nearly completed), building a multi-purpose hall, and 12 classrooms in the school ( completed and now being used), re-developing harbor, and a new building for the island's health center which has been awarded to a contractor.
President Solih promised to build a social center on the island if he is given a second term and also add 6 more classrooms to the school as well as develop a new building for the island council, and build a new mosque and a multi-facility park on the island.
