PNC Presidential Candidate Male' City Mayor Mohamed Muizzu says housing is not just awarding land plots and developing flats as the opposition coalition continues its campaign in the northern atolls of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhufushi, Mayor Muizzu said that citizens cannot build their homes with just land plots.
But he said that if the administration can structure its policies to the high order, each citizen can get the opportunity to develop their own homes.
Noting that housing loans should be made more accessible, the PNC Candidate pledged that under his administration citizens can easily get housing loan schemes.
He further said that under his administration loans would be given with an interest rate below 5 percent and that citizens can get the loans by meeting certain criteria.
Muizzu also said that special priority would be given to those who are unable to complete the construction of their homes and that a special scheme would be introduced for such individuals.
He added the developmental policies of PPM/PNC were structured on lessons learned from former President Abdullah Yameen.
