Police say the missing child from Hulhumale' Phase II has been found in Male' today.
The family of the 12-year-old girl reported her missing last night in Phase II. The girl was last seen leaving her home in Phase II Hiya Flats around 6:00 pm.
Police said that the report of the girl came in around 1:00 am in the morning and that the searched was launched.
In an update, Police said today that the girl has now been found in Male' around 13:44 pm today and that the girl was fine.
Police did not give any other details about the girl and the circumstances of her disappearance.
Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently.
While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.
His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
