Police say they have launched a search for a girl reported missing from Hulhumale' Phase II.
Police are searching for a 12-year-old girl originally from Raa Maakurath.
Sources have said that the girl went missing after she left her home in Hulhumale' Phase II Hiya flat around 06:00 pm.
Police said that the girl was reported missing around one am in the morning.
They said that once their received the report, they immediately began searching for the missing minor.
Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently. While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.
His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
