Police say they have yet to make an arrest over the abduction of a man in Male' on Friday.
Police reported yesterday that assailants forced the man into a guest house in Male' and then went on to force him to make online money transactions from his bank account.
They said that the Police were also investigating the theft case.
Police did not reveal any information about the victim of the crime nor any details of how much money was stolen from him.
But some sources said that the victim was robbed of more than MVR 200,000.
While different types of crimes have grown common in the Maldives, Police investigated a case where three locals were abducted in Male'.
Police arrested an adult as well as minor in relation to the case and are still investigating the case.
