The Democrats say its Presidential Candidate MP for Hulhudhoo Constituency Ilyas Labeeb and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed would travel to Addu City today.
The Democrats team is expected to reach the City later this evening and they are scheduled to meet and greet the residents of Addu City.
Campaign activities would also be held in the wards across the city.
While the majority of Addu City always goes to MDP during an election, the Democrats are hoping to change this by selecting a Presidential Candidate from the City.
MP Ilyas was confirmed as the candidate for the newly formed party in the referendum-style Presidential Primary held yesterday as only he had declared his candidacy for the internal election.
Ilyas received around 94 percent of the votes cast in the primary which amounts to 3,041.
Former President Nasheed tweeted after the results were announced that MP Ilyas would win the September elections.
