Planning Ministry says it is conducting a socio-Economic Study of the Raaje Transport Lint (RTL) ferry services in Zone 1 comprising of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani Atolls.
The Ministry said that it has awarded the contract to conduct the study to FSJ Consulting Private Limited.
It said that the main objective of this study is to analyze the socioeconomic impact of the RTL ferry services on people and communities, businesses, vulnerable groups, and other sectors.
The Ministry outlined that FSJ will be conducting surveys, focus group discussions, and interviews to understand the impact of the direct and indirect impact of RTL.
The Ministry urged the public to offer their cooperation to FSJ Consulting private limited to conduct this study.
While RTL ferry services are up and running in Northern Atolls, the service has also been launched in Lhaviyani Atoll as well as the southern Atolls of Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu.
