Foreign Ministry says Minister Abdullah Shahid will undertake an official visit to India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr. S Jaishankar later today.

The Ministry said that the official engagements are scheduled for 11 and 12th July.

It said that during the visit, official talks will be held between the two Foreign Ministers, on all aspects of the traditionally close friendly relations between the Maldives and India.

Both Ministers will discuss ongoing and future development projects in the Maldives and on strengthening international cooperation.

The Ministry said that Minister Shahid will also meet other high-level officials of the Government of India during the visit.

During the visit, Minister Shahid will also be delivering the 43rd Sapru House Lecture (SHL) at the Indian Council for World Affairs and meet with a number of Non-Resident Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to the Maldives based in New Delhi.
