Presidential Candidate of Maldives National Party MNP Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim says under an MNP government students can study up to a PhD free of charge.
He said this while speaking at a campaign rally held at Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhufushi.
Nazim said that the party's education policy was to offer free education from Kindergarten to Ph.D. level and to make sure that the people do not have to spend much on education.
He noted that MNP's policies would be different and that the party wants to run a government that works closely with the people and offers the people the most benefits.
He said that increasing the number of educational opportunities is one of the cornerstones of these policies.
Nazim further said that under an MNP government. talents of people with disabilities would also be cultivated.
The MNP candidate criticized the government in his remarks stating that its free land schemes should never be implemented. He said that such schemes were implemented for political gain and that the people must remain vigilant of such tactics.
Nazim also said that the North can be made the main pillar of the country's economy and that a bit of planning would allow trade ships from India to stop directly at Northern habors and bring about an economical revolution in the North.
