The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has advised people to beware of dengue fever, asthma, and diarrhea during the upcoming holidays.
In a statement, the HPA said that the upcoming Eid holidays and school holidays will increase the number of people traveling abroad, traveling to the provinces, and visiting crowded places.
The HPA has urged people to take preventive measures to reduce the spread of communicable diseases as dengue, asthma, and diarrhea are more common than usual.
HPA recommended home treatment if afflicted with the illnesses and they include;
•Resting- This speeds up the recovery and prevents the spread of the disease
•Use plenty of liquids - beneficial liquids include water, ORS packets, and soups.
•Paracetamol can be used to relieve cough, body aches, and joint pain.
HPA said that the patients must seek medical attention if the condition is severe.
