Police confirm that an 8-year-old child drowns while swimming in a pool at a resort located in Kaafu Atoll.
Speaking to The Press, a media official with the Police said that the child was taken to ADK hospital yesterday after she drowned in the pool and that the incident was reported yesterday.
Police cited the hospital to report that the child was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
They identified the child as an 8-year-old girl from India.
Police added that they were further investigating the case.
Reports say that the girl arrived at Coco Bodu Hithi Resort in Kaafu Atoll with her family yesterday afternoon. Reports also said that the girl drowned while swimming in an indoor pool on the resort.
