Vice President Faisal Naseem calls for unity and solidarity in pursuing national progress, stating that we can achieve national progress if people put aside their differences and work together, despite the country's limited resources.
He made the statement while speaking at a function held yesterday at CROSSROADS Maldives to celebrate the 26th anniversary of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).
The Vice President said STELCO had been an important utility service provider since its establishment. He added that STELCO had transformed the energy services industry and was expanding electricity and sewerage services on 30 islands in the central region.
Emphasizing the importance of professionalism, genuine friendships, and mutual support in the workplace, the Vice President stated that these traits are essential for delivering essential services to the public. He added that learning and sharing knowledge with coworkers is vital for personal and organizational growth.
The Vice President stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his administration place a high value on sustainable development and highlighted the initiatives to improve power plants on the islands as an example of this commitment. He then noted the many development efforts underway across the country as part of the administration's policy of decentralized administration.
The Vice President presented the Outstanding Service Award to Mohamed Latheef, STELCO's Deputy Managing Director, at the function tonight. The company also presented Long Service Awards to its longest-serving employees.
