A man dies after an excavator being used at Noonu Atoll Maafaru Airport collapsed today.
The victim is the driver of the excavator.
Police said that a man was rushed to Maafaru Health Center after an excavator that was used at the airport's runway collapsed. Police said that the man was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
They added that the incident was reported around 9:27 am earlier this morning.
The victim of the accident has been identified as a 35-year-old man from India.
Police said that there were further investigating the incident.
The Maafaru Airport expansion project is being carried out by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC.
