Police say in the first quarter of this year, 10,617 vehicles have been given stickers for traffic violations and that 614 vehicles have been towed for illegal parking.

Statistics released by the Police show that out of the 10,617 given stickers for traffic violations, 5,093 were motorcycles. It said that 3,978 cars were also stickered in the first quarter of this year and that another 853 pickups were given stickers too.

As for vehicles towed for illegal parking, motorcycles also top the list with 543 motorcycles towed in the last 3 months. The statistics show that 40 cars, 8 pickups, 7 vans, and 3 battery cycles were also towed for parking illegally. Surprisingly, the police towed 13 bicycles for parking violations in the last 3 months.

The statistics show that 539 road accidents were investigated between January and March of this year and that 516 of those accidents were reported from Male City. Police identified that 341 out of the total accidents involved four-wheelers while a staggering 371 accidents involved motorcycles.

Police also said that 6 pedestrians were involved in accidents reported in the first 3 months of the year.

They said that 77 injuries were reported in the 1st quarter traffic accidents and that no deaths were reported in these collisions.
