Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC says last year it spent MVR 43.23 million on 420 Corporate Social Responsibility CSR initiatives.
In its annual report, MTCC said that its CSR efforts were carried out in 20 Atolls and that 92 islands benefited from these initiatives.
The company said that it had established a new record as last year was the year MTCC had contributed most to the community.
In a further breakdown, MTCC said that in 2020, it carried out 99 CSR initiatives in 38 islands while in 2021 it supported 304 CSR initiatives in 58 islands.
In the report, MTCC listed 8 CSR initiatives carried out last year that it labeled as notable. This includes MVR 13 million spent on the development of Kudagiri Picnic Island.
MTCC described it as its main CSR objective for the year with the aim of creating a sustainable, eco-friendly picnic destination for residents inthe Greater Male’ Area.
Other initiatives include building a detention center, Faresmaathoda football ground development, Hinnvaru Jetty Development as well as the construction of a preschool in Hoarafushi.
