Mohamed Saaee Mubarak wins the 'Ran Thaaju' Quran recitation competition along with the grand prize of MVR 300,000.

He was presented the winners award at a ceremony held last night and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented him with the prize.

The competition's second-place winner, Fathimath Thuqa Haleem received the prizes from the First Lady, while the third-place winner, Yaeesh Mohamed Niyaz, received them from the Vice President.

Speaking at the ceremony last night, the "Ran Thaaju" Quran Recitation Competition demonstrated the prevalence of youth with a genuine love for reciting the Quran and pursuing Quranic knowledge.

He stated that the competition proved that there is much capable youth in the nation with the skills and ability to recite the Holy Quran with the proper rules of recitation.

He highlighted the importance of proper guidance, training, and experience in encouraging more youth to become Huffaz (people who have memorized the Holy Quran) and Qaris (people who recite the Quran in Tajweed). He stated that this in turn increases the number of people qualified to compete in international competitions and win gold medals.

The "Ran Thaaju" Quran Recitation Competition is produced as a reality show by Raajje TV in association with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment for the holy month of Ramadan. Auditions for the competition were held in six regions and featured 111 participants.
