Noonu Atoll Manadhoo Council says there have been no arrests made in relation to the death of Naeema Moosa, who was found dead in her own home.

This comes a week after the 62-year-old was discovered in her home where she lives alone after her family reported to the Police that there had been no contact with her for two days.

The victim was found in her own room after the Police broke down the door of her home.

Sources have said that there were several stab wounds on her body but so far the Police remain mum about the case.

Speaking to 'The Press', President of Manadhoo Council Abduh Rahman Sabeeh said that the forensic team from Police were still on the island and that they were taking samples for the investigation.

He said that no suspect has been arrested in relation to the case and that the council can only comment on the matter once the official investigation is completed.

Police have said before that they were investigating Naeema's death as a homicide but revealed no further information about the case.
