Police have confirmed that the search is underway for a man missing from the capital Male'.
They identified the missing man as 46-year-old Ahmed Nashid from Henveiru Cauliflower in Male'.
Police said that the man had been missing since last Wednesday and that his family had reported him missing last Sunday. The police assured that the search is well underway to locate the missing man.
But Police said the search has yet to result in any leads and asked the public to contact their Serious and Organized Crime Department if they have information about the missing man.
Police added that the department can be reached via 9911099.
More and more people have been reported missing in the last few months and the opposition even submitted an emergency motion at the parliament about such disappearances.
But the motion was unceremoniously thrown out from the parliament and authorities remain slient about the rise in such cases.
