Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has called out the name of the MP for Dhandhoo Constituency Yaqoob Abdullah and has subsequently thrown him out of the chamber during a heated debate in parliament today.
The heated debate was recorded after MP for Galolhu Uthuru Constituency Eva Abdullah submitted a resolution on government debt reduction and the parliament's findings on the matter.
During the debate, MP for Hulhudhoo Constituency Ilyas Labeeb aimed heavy criticism at the administration which MP Yaqoob did not take kindly. He interrupted and voiced his own discontent at MP Labeeb's comments about the government.
But the Speaker of the Parliament did not give the MP further chance to disrupt the session as his name was called out and he was asked to step out of the chamber.
The Speaker also advised the MP for Thinadhoo Uthuru Constituency Abdul Mughnee to refrain from disrupting the decorum of the session.
Both MP Labeeb and MP Yagoob represent MDP at the parliament.
MP Eva said that the reason for submitting the resolution was to draw the government's attention to the parliament's report on how to restructure state debt and further enhance the government's debt reduction measures.
