Transport Ministry says it has decided to temporarily suspend most of its services as the Ministry is shifting its office to the new government office building opened in Hulhumale'.

The Ministry said that work is underway to shift its office from the Star Cloud building in Male' to the Umar Zahir Office Building and that it cannot complete the work without shutting down the server which hosts its service system.

It said that due to this it has decided to suspend all services except issuing driver's licenses starting this afternoon.

The Ministry added that the services would be back online next Sunday.

The Umar Zahir Office building was officially opened yesterday by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The six-story office complex features 25,000 sq. ft. of office space on four floors and would see the relocation of three government ministries.

The President's Office said that the administration plans to relocate the offices and services of three government ministries to the new building; the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services, and the Ministry of Higher Education.

The six-story building features 25,000 square feet of office space on each of its four levels, meeting rooms, seminar rooms, a terrace, and a parking lot for 21 automobiles and 360 motorcycles.
