A fatal accident occurred in Kaafu Atoll Thulusdhoo when a tourist who was enjoying a swim was hit by a speed boat.
Local reports said that the man was swimming near the waterway Kuda Villigilli when the speed boat struck him from above by going over the victim.
Police confirmed that the victim was a 53-year-old Polish citizen.
Reports have said that the victim suffered major injuries after the accident. It said that one of his arms was chopped off while his gut also split opened in the accident.
While he suffered wounds to his legs, the chopped-off arm was lost at sea.
The tourist was declared dead on arrival at the health center.
Locals are really speeding there and they were doing so when the accident happened. Victim was Polish, not Spanish.
