Voting in Gaafu Dhaalu Hoadhedhoo has been stopped amid allegations that a voter whose name was not included in the list had cast a vote in MDP Primary today.

Speaking about the matter, MP for Madaveli Constituency Hussain Firushan said that voting cannot be allowed if the matter was not investigated probably.

He said that a mother had voted in her son's name and that while the son lives in Male', both are registered to the same address. Reports have said that there have been scuffles at the voting station due to the issue.

Such cases have cropped up in several voting stations across the country and one such case was reported by Vice Speaker of the parliament Eva Abdullah in Gaafu Alifu Villigilli.
