The CEO of the Local Government Authority LGA Afshan Latheef decides to support the Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed in the upcoming MDP Primary election.
Afshan has been participating in Nasheed's campaign activities and the Twitter handle of Nasheed's campaign also welcomes Afshan for her decision.
She is the wife of STO's Managing Director Hussain Amr who has also sided with Nasheed for the Primary. Amr accompanied Nasheed on his trip to Huvadhoo atoll. He was the first head of the State Owned Entity to join Nasheed in his campaign.
While this attracted indirect comments from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Amr clarified yesterday that his political stance would not affect his work as the MD of STO.
Amr further said that he talked to the President before embarking on the trip with Nasheed and had also shared who he would support in the MDP primary with the President.
