President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has aimed an indirect jibe at the Managing Director of State Trading Organization STO Hussain Amr saying that even if one changes his/her political views, it would not halt projects.
The President's comments came as Amr joined his opponent in the MDP Primary Speaker Mohamed Nasheed on his campaign trip to Huvadhoo Atoll. Amr is the first head of a State Owned Company to follow Nasheed on his campaign trips.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, President Solih noted that the expansion of Koodoo cold storage was given to STO and Fenak and assured that these projects would be completed.
The President said that this administration or any of the companies under it would not back away from implementing a government policy and that it would be changing ways to implement the policies.
President Solih highlighted that many projects were underway in Thinadhoo and promised that his next visit to the Southern island would be when it would become a city.
Sharing these plans, President Solih said that the government develop an international port, a tertiary hospital, develop the education sector, and another international airport near the island.
