The Parliament announces that it would restart its session for this year on the 6th of next month.

In a message to the media, the Parliament's Secretariat said that this year's first parliamentary session would kick off at 09:00 am on the 6th of February.

As per the law, the first session of the Parliament for a calendar year would see the sitting President give an address to the Parliament about the current state of affairs in the country and in the administration.

President Ibrahim Mohamed is expected to give his last Presidential Address of his first term to the parliament next month.

The Minority Party of the parliament would also be given the chance to deliver their counter address on that day.

The first day of the Parliament is a public holiday.
