Police have arrested 4 individuals in a counter-narcotics operation conducted in Male' and Hulhumale'.
Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed said via Twitter that counter-narcotics teams the Police conducted a successful search operation yesterday evening at 4 locations in Male' and 1 in Hulhumale'.
He further said that police had arrested 4 individuals during the operation. The Commissioner further said that the individuals were seized with 11.26 kgs of narcotics and identified the seized drugs as cannabis.
Hameed added that an investigation has been launched following the arrests.
The Commission shared pictures of the seized drugs which were packed in small plastic packets as well as empty film cases.
The Police have conducted anti-drug operations frequently in their battle against narcotics use and trade in the country.
Last month, Police arrested 17 individuals in a major drug bust that was to distrupt drug trafficking and peddling by a well known crime group.
