Police have released all 16 individuals arrested from last night's opposition protest organized to condemn the 11-year jail sentence given against former President Abdullah Yameen.
Yameen was given a jail sentence after he was convicted of money laundering and accepting bribes over the sale of Aaarah.
The Opposition has been staging protests since the verdict was given and last night opposition protesters gathered at Chandhanee Magu junction.
Protesters also gathered outside the residence of Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid.
Key members of the opposition were also present at the protest.
Police said that they had arrested 15 men and 1 woman from the protest last night.
