Anti Corruption Commission ACC has summoned former Foreign Minister Dhunya Maumoon in its investigation into the Maldives' Marketing and Public Relations Corporation corruption case.

While Dhunya was asked to present herself to the ACC, she did not answer the summon at that time. But this time around Dhunya herself confirmed that she answered the summon in a curt tweet.

The Former Minister labeled the summoning as political persecution, lies, and harassment. She went on to say that she has never stolen even 1 MVR from the government and the Maldivian people.

She claimed that she was 'dragged' to the ACC and said that she will fight for truth and justice always.

Around MVR 1.3 billion was swindled in the MMPRC scandal, and funds were illegally transferred to more than 150 accounts.

In a letter to the Asset Recovery Commission, the former Foreign Minister said that she had not received the alleged MVR 200,000 from the scandal as mentioned in the Parliament report on the scandal.
