Addu Equatorial Hospital AEH says the two workers who were injured after being accidentally buried while working on the road development project in Addu are now stable.

The two men were buried while trying to bury a pipe and one of the men received serious injuries while the other man suffered light wounds.

Reports have said that the men were buried after the hole that was dug to bury the sewerage pipe had collapsed onto them. It was also reported that an excavator was used to rescue the men from the collapsed hole.

The two men who were injured are from Fenaka Corporations.

Speaking to 'The Press', Customer Relations Officer at the AEH Saafee Mohamed said that the two men were brought to the hospital around 5:00 pm yesterday.

He said that the man who was gravely injured had broken his rib cage and that there was blood in his lungs. Saafee said that the man was being treated in the ICU and that the man was stable.

He added that the other man received treatment at the ward and is expected to be discharged today.
