A local fisherman has sustained multiple injuries after being struck by a propeller on a boat.
Reports have identified the victim as Mohamed Shafeeq of Dhilaasaage, Gaafu Alifu Kandu Hulhudhoo.
The victim had been trying to unwind a rope that was stuck on the propeller when he was struck by it. The boat has been identified as The Gallery' from Kandu Hulhudhoo.
Reports say that Shafeeq sustained injuries to his shoulder blade as well as his legs.
The victim was first treated at Gadhoo hospital and was later transferred to the hospital in Thinadhoo.
The incident occurred earlier today.
