The President's Office says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih would address the nation tonight.
It said that President Solih would address the nation at 08:00 this evening.
The President's Office further said that it would be during the National Award ceremony scheduled for late tonight.
The National Awards Committee of the President’s Office announced on Wednesday the decision to present this year’s "National Award of Honour" to 10 recipients and the "National Award of Recognition" to 22 recipients.
The National Awards are conferred annually to recognize and encourage the efforts of individuals and organizations that contribute to the nation’s development and society’s benefit.
The recipients are vetted and selected by the National Awards Committee. This year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will confer the National Award of Recognition on 19 individual recipients and three organizations. Five of this year’s National Award of Honour awardees will be previous National Award of Recognition recipients.
