Housing Ministry says it has received more than 35,000 forms for the government's housing scheme 'Gedhoruverinn', specially opened for residents of Male'.

The deadline for the scheme was up last night.

The government had initially opened the scheme for the application back in June with a deadline set for September. But the Government had later extended the deadline till 12 midnight last night.

The Ministry said in a tweet that it had received a total of 35,861 forms for the housing scheme.

It further said that it had received 15,164 forms for the 'Binveriya Scheme' which is the housing scheme for land plots in Male' area allocated for the residents of the capital.

The Ministry also said that it had received 14,489 forms for the 3-bed room apartments under the 'Gedhoriveriya' scheme while it received 6,208 forms for 2-bedroom apartments under the same scheme.

The Government allocated 3,000 land plots and 4,000 flats for the housing scheme.
