The Prosecutor General's Office says it received 241 cases last month.

In its monthly statistics report, PG Office said that out of the cases filed at the office in September, 36 cases were rejected and 70 cases were sent back for incomplete information.

It had accepted 60 cases for further review.

Out of the criminal cases received, 202 cases were forwarded by the Police while the Anti Corruption Commission sent in 10 and 2 others were forwarded by the Human Rights Commission.

Out of these 214 cases, 89 cases were drug-related while 41 cases were of theft and burglary, and 14 cases were related to physical altercations.

Looking deeper into drug-related cases, 52 percent of the cases are now at first sentencing while the drug courts doled out sentencing without conditions for 34 percent of the cases.
