Lawyer Nazim Sattar has pled guilty to having homosexual relations with Bangladeshi national MD Alamgiri.

Nazim, who is the younger brother of the Speaker of the Parliament, said in his trial he had homosexual relations with the Bangladeshi national but remained adamant that he had not committed sodomy.

Nazim said that Sodomy was not part of the charges filed against him and that he would sue news outlets who write that he had committed sodomy.

His trial came after he was arrested back in July following the leaked video of him having sex with Alamgiri, who had been accused of having homosexual relations with more than 200 men in the Maldives.

While Nazim was arrested on 12th July, he was later released on the 11th of August.

His confession in court came after the Criminal Court had fast-tracked his sexual partner's trial last month. Alamgiri was convicted of homosexuality and given a jail sentence of 7 months and 6 days after he had confessed to the charges against him.
