Police in Addu City has confirmed an accident in the City in which a lorry hit a pedestrian and suffered serious head injuries.
Police said that the accident happened near Addu Equatorial Hospital and that the victim is a local man. They said that the man is now being treated at the hospital for the injuries he suffered in the accident.
Police had not revealed the extent of his injuries but confirmed that they were further investigating the matter.
Photos circulated on social media of the accident showed that the man had serious injuries to his head. His condition is reportedly serious.
The Press is yet to reach Addu Equatorial Hospital which is treating the victim.
