Environmental Protection Agency EPA says it has today conducted a joint survey at Villimale' House reef to assess the damages caused to the reef due to the grounding of the self-elevating platform Yuvraj last month.

The massive infrastructure ran aground on the South East corner of Villimale's reef on the 16th of last month and it took the bridge contractor AFCONS of India 12 days to remove the platform from the reef. During that period, the structure continued to strike the reef repeatedly and the vibrations were even felt on the island.

EPA said before that it would conduct a damage assessment once the structure is removed from the reef and 9 days after its removal the agency was able to conduct a survey earlier this morning.
