The Chinese Ambassador in the Maldives Wang Lixin says almost 100 million people have passed through the SinaMale' bridge as the biggest infrastructure built in the Maldives celebrates its 4th anniversary.
The Ambassador said this in a video message released on the occasion.
Ambassador Wang Lixin said that the bridge was an important product of the China Aid program.
She said that now the bridge has become a symbol of the profound friendship between China and the Maldives.
She noted that since the bridge opened to the public 4 years ago, almost 100 million people have passed through the bridge.
The Chinese ambassador said that the bridge has greatly facilitated the daily life of local people, and also greatly promoted the social and economic development of Maldives.
She quoted Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid as saying that the bridge had brought transformative changes to the Maldivian people.
The Ambassador went on to say that the two countries are jointly embarking on a journey of prosperity and happiness.
She reminded us that next October the Maldives and China would celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with each other. She urged the Maldives to work together to promote friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries with more fruitful achievements in the future,
The SinaMale' bridge has changed the landscape of the capital city while also bringing a positive impact to the daily lives of many working and living in the central city.
