The spokesperson at the President's Office Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has resigned from his post.

While the President's Office is yet to confirm his resignation, 'The Press' has come to know that Mabrook has indeed left his post. Sources have also said that he is currently holidaying in the Thai capital Bangkok. He is currently visiting his wife who is a Thai national.

Mabrook himself has yet to confirm the development.

He has resigned from the post with only 1 year and a few months left of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's tenure. Mabrook had said before that if the President sought another term, he would work with him during his presidential campaign.

Mabrook who had been the Under Secretary at the President's Office was promoted to the Presidential Spokesperson post on January 1st of last year but the President's Office announced it on the 10th of that month.

Before that Mabrook had grabbed the nation's attention while acting as the spokesperson for the National Emergency Operations Center NEOC established to fight the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
