MDP President and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has asked members of the MDP congress not to promote ministers from other parties of the coalition government.
Nasheed said this after State Minister at the Heritage Ministry Mohamed Thoriq praised Minister Yumna Maumoon during his presentation at the 4th MDP congress today.
He said that this was an MDP Congress and the mindset of ministers from other parties was not important right now.
Nasheed further said that MDP itself is a rather competitive party and other parties, their philosophies and their ministers' mindsets are not important to MDP.
He further said that MDP doesn't want to run the nation on their philosophies.
Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon belongs to MRM and she is also the daughter of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
During Thoriq's presentation, he had also said that it was important that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih should be given another term.
