The family of 22-year-old Shiaau Ahmed Saeed, who was brutally murdered earlier this month, say she will be buried tonight in her homeland Fuvahmulah.
Police had sent the murder victim's body for an autopsy to India last Thursday and had brought the body back to the Maldives last night.
Funeral prayer for the victim would be held after Isha prayers today and it has been reported that the prayers would be held at Masjid Inaaraa in Fuvahmulah.
The victim's family is currently making preparations to take her home.
Shiaa was murdered and mutilated at an apartment building in Male.
Local skater, 22-year-old Ali Shaahil was arrested at the scene of the crime and authorities believe he is the only suspect involved in the horrific crime.
Police had said that Shaahil had no priors and that there had been no official reports of any domestic violence allegations against the suspect.
But Police had also said that Shaahil was intoxicated when they arrested him and media reports had said that the suspect had been drenched in what appears to be the victim's blood.
