Home Minister Imran Abdullah says those who share and spread videos of vile acts must also be punished.

He said this after many voiced concerns that those on social media platforms have been sharing the series of leaked videos of men having same-sex relations.

Minister Imran said in a tweet the need to create a legal framework to punish those who have been sharing and spreading videos of vile acts grows stronger.

He said that without such a legal framework, the country's social discipline might be wholly broken.

Spreading such videos and images is now considered a criminal offense in the county as per the Penal Code and the Sexual Offences Act (2014).

Though the Sexual Offences Act does not use the words like leaked videos of sexual acts, it does prohibit the production of pornography as well as the publication of the content through any medium.

These offenses are punishable with imprisonment for a period between 1 and 3 years.
