Maldives Airports Company Ltd MACL says although the issue with Velaana International's checking system has been resolved, the airport is expected to be congested during the next two days.
While the issue with the checking system popped up last week, airport officials were able to get the system back online last Thursday. Despite the solution, the airport remains busy and many incoming and outgoing passengers are complaining about the long queues at the airport.
Speaking about the issue, MACL said to 'The Press' that it is expecting heavy airport movement over the next two days and that it is anticipating a very busy 48-hour period.
MACL also said that it had identified last week's problem with the checking system and has since resolved the issue.
It also said that they were still debugging the system and that they were carrying out the process without shutting down the whole system.
MACL added that some of their checking counters were manually entering the data of passengers to continue operations with both domestic and international flight activity busy at this time of the year.
