Police say the man arrested at yesterday's protest held by Sri Lankans living in the Maldives is still under their custody.

During the protests held in Male' yesterday, Police arrested a Sri Lankan man.
Police said today that the man remains under their custody but have yet to confirm why the man was arrested in the first place.
They had dispersed the protesters shortly after they gathered together and had confiscated flags and banners the protesters had used.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa had flown into the Maldives on Wednesday morning, allegedly on a Sri Lankan airforce plane.
It was widely reported that the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed had ordered that the plane be given clearance to land in the Maldives.
But the embittered President has since departed the Maldives and is now traveling to Singapore after departing the island nation on a Saudi Airline flight this morning.
