President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have arrived in the Maldives after concluding an unofficial visit to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj Pilgrimage.
The First Couple arrived in Male' last night.
They departed for Saudi Arabia on the 4th of this month.
While away on the unofficial trip President Solih held vital discussions with Saudi Officials. Notably with Saudi Commerce Minister Majid Al-Kasabi.
At the meeting, discussions were focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in commerce and trade between the two countries.
The President also thanked the Saudi government for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their visit to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj Pilgrimage.
After completing their Hajj pilgrimage, the President and First Lady met with Maldivian pilgrims in Mina.
During the meeting, the President and First Lady inquired about the well-being of the Pilgrims.
A total of 453 Maldivian Pilgrims traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj Pilgrimage.
