Police have arrested a man for sexually harassing and blackmailing a woman.
Police said to the media that a case of a man sexually harassing and blackmailing a 21-year-old woman on an island in Haa Dhaalu Atoll was reported on the 29th of last month.
Since the case involved a sex crime, Police did not reveal the name of the island on which the alleged abuse had occurred.
But they said that after an investigation into the case, Police arrested a 36-year-old man in relation to the case.
Police added that the suspect was apprehended with an arrest warrant from the court.
They said that the Police were further investigating the case.
