Maldives National Defense Force MNDF says it has found the missing tourist from Saii Lagoon resort in Crossroads dead in the sea.
MNDF said that its Maritime Rescue Coordination Center had received a report around 06:54 am saying that an Australian tourist had missing from one of the water villas on the resorts.
They said that they had begun a search and rescue operation for the missing tourist at 08:02 am and had mobilized its harbor craft launch of the 2nd Squadron of MNDF Male' Area coast guard and divers.
MNDF said that they had spotted the tourist's body floating in the water around 09:36 am today and that the body was found 1.3 miles off crossroads.
They also said that they had taken the body out of the water and transferred the deceased tourist to Crossroads.
