Hajj Corporation says only individuals below 65 years would be given the opportunity to travel for the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year under the corporation.

It said that the corporation would be following three guidelines when selecting pilgrims to take to Hajj this year under the quota issued to the corporation by the Islamic Ministry.

Guidelines on how to select pilgrims for Hajj 1443

  • Selecting pilgrims as per the 'Hajj and Umrah Services Guidelines' of the corporation
  • Those selected for Pilgrimage would be given a letter of invitation and once the individual fill in the appropriate form, then his/her selection would be confirmed
  • Only individuals who are below 65 years would be given the chance to go on Pilgrimage this year.

Hajj Corporation said as per the guidelines set by Saudi Arabia, only those who have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations would be allowed to perform Hajj this year.

The Maldives was awarded just 453 Hajj quotas this year by Saudi Arabia and this had prompted Islamic Ministry to take the decision to just allow pilgrims to travel under the authority of the Hajj Corporation this year.
