Education Ministry says O'level exams would begin on the 4th of next month with more than 5,000 sitting for the national exams.
The Ministry said preparations were underway for the exams and that it was in the process of forwarding exam papers to the examination centers.
It said that the Ministry had begun sending the paper to the exam centers on the 20th of this month and is hoping to complete this work by the 29th of this month.
The O'level exams would continue till the 10th of June this year.
The Education Ministry had informed that students would sit for the O'level exam at 239 centers in the Maldives while exam centers have been set up in both Lanka and Malaysia for local students there.
It confirmed that a total of 5,939 students would be sitting for the O'level exams this year.
