President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today met with the senior management and staff of the Lhaviyani Atoll Education Centre and held extensive discussions on their concerns, challenges, and developmental needs.
President Solih visited Hinnavaru Island as part of a six-island visit to the Lhaviyani Atoll.
The President's Office said that at the meeting, the faculty shared with the President their shortcomings due to space constraints, including the need to upgrade the complex and develop additional infrastructure.
They also highlighted their human resources needs.
Speaking with the faculty, President Solih assured them that the administration would consider their concerns and seek ways to find amicable solutions. He also toured the institution.
The President's Office said before ending his trip to the island, President Solih visited the health center on the island.
There, he met with the management and staff and inquired about healthcare services.
He also visited the extension site of the harbor and inspected the progress of the project. Commissioned to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), it would see the development of a deep-water quay wall to facilitate larger vessels—the new harbor would be 162 meters in length. The project also includes developing a quay wall in the old harbor and basin deepening.
President Solih then had traveled to Naifaru of Lhaviyani Atoll where is currently holding meetings with island-level officials and agencies.
