Former President and Opposition Leader Abdullah Yameen says under a PPM government, it would only award government jobs and state company posts to PPM members.
He made the comments while speaking with those from the Komandoo constituency currently living in Male' in a bid to garner more support for the opposition's candidate for the upcoming byelection.
In the meeting, Yameen implored the constituents to vote for the opposition's candidate Moosa Fathuhee in the election scheduled for next month.
Yameen also urged those present to report if any civil servant or anyone working for a state-owned company is fired from their jobs for being involved in Fathuhee's campaign.
He said if any individual is wronged in this manner, he would do whatever it takes to legally take back their rights and assured that under an opposition government such individuals would be given jobs.
Yameen went on to say that if his party came to power, his government would only employ PPM members for posts in the government and state-owned companies and there is no room for others.
He added that he would give priority to those who are now working for PPM as well.
